It is about six months old and in fantastic condition. The bell is a 10.5" gold brass flare and is amazingly thin and responsive. These are handmade natural french horns with full set of crooks and slides. In great shape, a few small lacquer blems from use but otherwise super clean. This one has been well used but is in very good condition after a good tune up by my repairman, Brad Close. This horn really projects, big sound with a dense centered tone. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is unparalleled and the design is totally unique and inspiring. Overall very clean. Plays very well. The copper bell is a seamless bell. Each slide is sold with one lead pipe. It has the sound and response of a TIS bass but it bell tuning, the wide throated bell is thin and responsive and puts out a focused and dense timeless sound. Legend has it that Jeff Reynolds once flattened a Conn Fuchs bass trombone while out jeeping and Larry Minick returned the instrument to playable condition. These are wonderful instruments that are no longer in production from the Bach factory. This 26H is in very good condition. These are lightweight single valve bass trombones with tuning in the slide, based on the Conn 60H. Since he was mostly know for producing jazz horns, they were never as popular as his famous model 6, making 8's quite rare. Very rare Elkhart Conn 35H alto trombone, tuning in the slide, yellow brass construction. The 1G bell is particularly responsive on this instrument (usually I find them a bit stiff, but this one is well balanced). The gold brass bell was a special order, so you don't see them often from this vintage. SOLD. SOLD, This is one of my favorite instruments. Most interestingly, this trombone is currently set up with a "Haynor" valve system. It has had some repairs and shows cosmetic blems in the lacquer as well as some scratching in the finish. The bell is unlacquered raw brass (and has a glorious patina). Slotting is easy and the trombone has a quick response. 10" red brass bell, .562" nickel slide with yellow crook. Slide action is good and the horn blows well. I will include a mouthpiece that works with the horn, but I would recommend a Geert Van Der Heide mouthpiece, which can be had to fit this instrument exactly. This one is from the late 1950s, it's an 800,000 series serial number. At the time this trombone was made, the 88H was not in standard production yet and .547" tenor trombones were just starting to become the gold standard for orchestral tromboning. $2600 with original case. The valves have not yet been broken in. This is a New York Bach model 34 with a rose brass bell. Approaching it with the sound concept of the classic Chicago brass section will yield great success. It is a bit front heavy because there is no counterweight but the clean look of the horn is something to behold. In very good condition with just a little bit of cosmetic wear. A very famous trombone, this is the custom double valve tenor 88H made by Larry Minick for Stuart Dempster. Pop this flare on that Greenhoe 50 chassis and you have a bass trombone thats a sharpshooting marksman. Bell has been cut by John Mason. The smaller bore slide in combination with the 8H bell gives nice stability and predictability to playing without draining your air, it still makes a big sound. If you have information, I'd love to hear about it. We found that applying thicker coats of lacquer deadens the instrument, leading it being unresponsive and dull.
